Qualifications: BSC Biological Sciences

I have taught Biology, General Sciences and Health and Social Care in secondary schools in London and in Milton Keynes. I have also worked as a library assistant at the University of Northampton. My hobbies are Martial Arts, African Music and I also have a keen interest in Astronomy. This interest was aroused in 1969 when as a young child I remember watching the first Apollo moon landing on television. I remember saying to my parents that I wanted to be an astronaut when I grew up. Even though childhood dreams don't always materialise, I have always tried to do my best in everything that I do. My interest here at NOA is to help motivate young people so that they can achieve their full potential.

Qualifications: Youthwork level 3, Health and Social Care level 3, History A level and English Language A level

I enjoy working at NOA as I receive a lot of support from my colleagues when I have any queries or issues I do not know how to deal with. I also enjoy seeing students who are making progress after receiving my help as it makes me feel like I am making a positive difference in their school lives and in the work, they are completing in class or interventions as it shows their full potential. I am also given a chance to develop my career by being provided with different training courses that are provided by the school. During my free time I like spending time with friends and family and going to various places. I also enjoy music, so I play the piano and sing from time to time.

I have completed my Bachelor's degree in Special Educational Needs and Inclusion (0-25).  I like that in my job I am able to use the skills I have developed while studying my degree. Each day is different and very flexible. I love being able to work with young people and support them to achieve their potential.

Alex Cook
Learning Coach

I have worked at Noa for 1 year now and it’s been unlike any job I’ve ever had. Every day comes with a new challenge and the students motivate me to be better every single day. Before working at NOA I worked as a personal trainer straight out of college following a Level 2 Sports and exercise Diploma, I started in a small gym teaching classes and working my way up to becoming a 1-2-1 trainer. Alongside my job at NOA I also serve as an On-call Firefighter for Oxfordshire Fire & Rescue stationed here in Banbury. My favourite part about working at NOA is seeing students realise their potential, the moment they realise what can be achieved through having ambition and determination is a special moment.
